VST3 modulein the NoAMP zipv0.1.1
The board's delay as its own plugin: a vintage two-tap digital delay with musical layouts, note-value sync, repeats that darken and saturate as they regenerate, motion on the line and a converter-grit control for lo-fi trails. This plugin is Layerz's Linear engine.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| On | Off fades the echoes away; your dry signal passes untouched. |
| Layout | How the two taps sit. Slap: one centred tap. Ping-Pong: repeats bounce left and right. Dotted (default): one tap at Time on the left, one at 1.5 × Time on the right. Chorus: short modulated doubling taps. Wash: two slightly detuned taps with a long-feedback lean. |
| Time | Delay time, 20 to 1500 ms (default 350 ms). Ignored while Sync is on. |
| Sync + Division | Delay length follows the host tempo as a note value: 1/1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/4., 1/4T, 1/8, 1/8., 1/8T, 1/16, 1/16T (default 1/8). With no host tempo it assumes 120 BPM. |
| Feedback | How many repeats, 0 to 100% (default 45%). |
| Mod | One knob of warble: rate and depth together (default 30%). |
| Mod Wave | Triangle (default) or Sine. |
| Character | Converter grit, 0 to 100% (default 40%). 0 is fully clean. |
| Bits | Bit depth of the delay memory: 16, 12 (default), 11, 8. Heard through Character. |
| FB Drive | Saturates the repeats as they regenerate. |
| Damping | Each repeat gets darker, an in-loop high cut from about 16 kHz down to 2 kHz. |
| Repeat LC | Low cut inside the feedback loop, 40 to 200 Hz (default 80 Hz), so the trail never gets muddy. |
| Bandwidth | High cut on what goes into the delay, 2 to 16 kHz. |
| Width | Stereo spread of the two taps (default 80%). |
| Mix | Dry/wet (default 35%). |
| Freeze | Holds the current repeats indefinitely and shuts the input out of the delay. Play over the held bed. |
The LAYERZ card on the board has an Engine menu with three delays. Linear is this plugin, plus a sixth layout, Reverse. Quantum slices what you play to the beat and stutters, reverses, warps and smears it, steered by three nodes on its own screen. Echo is a tube tape unit with a sliding record head. See LAYERZ in the NoAMP manual.
| Engine | two-tap modulated delay, in-loop damping, low cut and saturation, bit-depth reduction, click-free fades |
