In plain English: use them however you like, but we make no promises about how they will behave, and we are not responsible if something goes wrong with your ears, your gear, or your work. Subject to these terms, Ill Sea LLC grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the software for your own music and audio-production purposes; Ill Sea may revoke this license at any time. If you are not comfortable with any of this, do not download, install, or use the software.

We do not set any cookies of our own, and this site stores nothing on your device — no cookies, no localStorage, no sessionStorage. We run no analytics or tracking of any kind (no Google Analytics, no Cloudflare Web Analytics, nothing), we embed no third-party content, and we load no remote fonts, scripts, or images — every asset is served from this same site.
The only JavaScript here builds the page (the plugin lists), animates the on-screen visualizers, and runs a small in-browser player for the audio demos — all in your browser. Playing a demo (or downloading a file) streams a file hosted on this same site: an ordinary web request that stores nothing on your device and builds no profile of you. We do not collect personal data.
We control our own site and the code on it; we do not control, and cannot speak for, the internal workings of your browser or network, or the third-party sites we link to. Our web host, Cloudflare Pages, processes limited technical data (including IP addresses) in standard server logs to deliver and secure the site, and may set a strictly-necessary security cookie if bot or DDoS protection is ever enabled. Any such data is used only to deliver and protect the site — never for analytics, advertising, or tracking you across sites — and carries no personal profile. In privacy terms, Ill Sea LLC is the operator of this site and Cloudflare acts as our hosting provider (processor). If you have a privacy question, contact Ill Sea LLC.

BYOB is freeware: free to use, not a transfer of ownership. The license granted above lets you install and use the software; it does not give you any ownership of the software or of our names, logos, or branding. The BYOB name, the Illthy line, the Ill Sea name and branding, and the parts of the software we wrote are the property of Ill Sea LLC and are protected by copyright and other laws; all rights in them are reserved. Except where applicable law grants you a non-waivable right to do so, or where a component’s own license (such as the MIT-licensed NeuralAmpModelerCore) expressly permits, you may not reverse-engineer, decompile, resell, or repackage the proprietary parts we made. The MIT-licensed and other third-party components remain governed by their own licenses.

Ill Sea software may include or load third-party components. BYOB uses NeuralAmpModelerCore by Steven Atkinson, provided under the MIT License; its copyright and permission notice ship with the download (in LICENSE.txt and THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt, plus the LICENSES/ folder inside the zip) and are reproduced in full below. The MIT License provides that component “AS IS,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and that its authors and copyright holders are not liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from it. Neural Amp Modeler and NeuralAmpModelerCore are the work of Steven Atkinson and the NAM project; Ill Sea is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by them.
BYOB can load Neural Amp Modeler (.nam) profiles, including community captures obtained from third-party sources such as Tone3000. Tone3000 is a trademark of its respective owner, used here only to identify a source of capture files; Ill Sea is not affiliated with Tone3000 and does not create, host, endorse, or warrant those profiles. Individual captures are the property of and licensed by their respective creators. Capture and profile files may emulate the sonic behavior of hardware you do not own and may be subject to the intellectual-property, trademark, trade-dress, or other rights of others. Ill Sea makes no representation that any capture is authorized by, or that its use is lawful with respect to, any hardware manufacturer or rights-holder. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the rights to create, load, and use any capture file, and you assume all risk of any infringement or other claim arising from it. Ill Sea disclaims all liability for third-party components and for any files you load. This site may also link to third-party websites (such as Tone3000); those sites have their own terms and privacy practices, which we do not control.
